                                                                         WAR STORIES

American War Veterans' oral histories and testimonials are immeasurably valuable to historians, film makers, authors, journalists, researchers, scholars, students and citizens from all walks of life.

The Department of Veterans Affairs indicates approximately 19,000,000 American war veterans are living in this Country today. From World War I, present day statics indicates there is only; one (1) WWI veteran alive today.  6,000,000 from World War II. Of those numbers, nearly 1,500 die each day. Therefore, its in the best interest of our Country to collect and catalog oral histories and testimonials of American war veterans in order that current and  future generations will have an original source of information regarding the lives and times of those who served in wars and conditions under which they endured. So that Americans will always remember those who served in wars and may learn of the horrors and the tediousness of war, but will also learn first-hand of the heroics, the triumphs and the victroy of war.

Stories posted on warstory.net will be directed to an appropriate repository for collection and preservation and then an oral history archive made available to the public. The collection of personal histories and testimonials is encourged whether by internet website, video or audio recordings, or through other medias. It is encourged that a national effort be made to preserve the memories of our War Veterans so that Americans of current and future generations may hear directly from America's Veterans and better appreicate the realities of war and sacrifices made by those who served in uniforms during times of war.

At WarZoneStories.net veterans may post written materials such as letters and diaries relevant to their personal histories, or video and audio recordings of Veterans of the Armed Forces and Civilians who served during a period of war. Such material will be cataloged and preserved in a manner as the Repository Director considers appropriate, consistent and complimentary to the description of his directives. Veterans returning to their war zones have amazing stories which have given them a completely different views of the war zones, which may well have a therapeutic effect on their PTSD PROBLEMS.
